Cangwe Washing Station is located in southern Burundi’s Bururi Province, Rukanda Commune, at an altitude of 2,100 meters, with average annual rainfall ranging between 1,500 and 1,700 mm. This region is renowned for its ideal coffee-growing conditions and its prized Red Bourbon Arabica variety.

The washing station sources freshly harvested cherries from smallholder producers in the nearby hills of Rukanda and Songa. Each lot is meticulously prepared—farmers carefully sort out underripe, overripe, and foreign matter before delivering only the finest red cherries to the station on the same day they are picked, ensuring a consistent and exceptional cup profile.
